CD6 Honors the Fallen

Unfortunately, CD6 has lost another American Hero.  The Department of Defense has announced that 1st Lt. Matthew R. Vandergrift, 28, of Littleton, died of wounds he suffered fighting in Basra on April 21st.  

C4CD6 would like to offer the family of Lt. Vandergrift our most sincere condolences.  


Economic Data look mild, but feeling is gloomy

House prices are falling, food and energy prices are rising and consumers are gloomier than they've been in decades.  But the latest data on the U.S. economy shows it still has a feeble pulse.

So which is it?  Are we in the early stages of a full-blown recession?  Or is this a brien downturn before the economy gets up another head of steam later in the year?

Colo. superdelegates keep votes close to vest

Democrats in Colorado's congressional delegation who've yet to pledge their superdelegate vote stayed uncommitted Wednesday after the latest primaries.

Mathematically, it's almost impossible for either Obama or Clinton to reach the number of needed delegates for the nomination without the superdelegates.

Eng Wins CD6 Nomination!

Mr. Eng gained 88% of the CD6 delegates to secure the CD6 nomination and has already set his sights on organizing his campaign and turning CD6 Blue in November.

US Deployes more than 43,000 unfit for combat

Most of the "non-deployable" servicemembers are in the Army, which is doing most of the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.More than 43,000 U.S. troops listed as medically unfit for combat in the weeks before their scheduled deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan since 2003 were sent anyway, Pentagon records show. 

The reliance on troops found medically "non-deployable" is another sign of stress placed on a military that has sent 1.6 million servicemembers to the war zones, soldier advocacy groups say.

"It is a consequence of the consistent churning of our troops," said Bobby Muller, president of Veterans For America.  "They are repeatedly exposed to high-intensity combat with insufficient time at home to rest and heal before redeploying." [Read the full article here]
