Somebody fed Hillary Clinton a stupid pill today

Senator Hillary Clinton said today:

"I think that since we now know that Sen. John McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, National Security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it's imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the Commander in Chief threshold. I believe that I've done that. Certainly Sen McCain has done that, and you'll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy."

Telecom Immunity is coming to get you

Harry Reid and the Senate will soon be taking up the question of Telecom Immunity once again in the New Year. In case you have forgotten or managed to miss the issue let me refresh you. It recently became public knowledge that not only was our government spying on American Citizens' phone and email conversations without warrants (which is both illegal -see FISA- and unconstitutional- see the 1st and 4th Amendments) but that they had suborned the cooperation of most of the giant Telecom Corporations, which allowed the NSA to set up wiretapping operations within each company.

Tancredo goes down with a "BOOM!"

Terrible Tommy's parting shot, now that he's retiring from the hard work of not voting in Congress, is a putrid little campaign commercial for his vanity soapbox presidential bid.
<!-- break -->

It starts with the usual boilerplate: "I'm Tom Tancredo, and I approved this message, and adds "because SOMEONE needs to say it!" The commercial depicts a fictional Terrorist walking through our streets, looking like some random citizen, dropping off a backpack full of explosives at the mall, as a sinister voice declaims:

The sky is falling UP!

The sky is falling UP!
60 minutes repeated a fascinating example of Republican spin last sunday night. It was called "Wake-up Call", and there was just enough truth in it to swallow it whole. Actually, most of what was said was true, it was just the conclusions about the causes and the solutions that were pure Republican spin.

Precedent

THERE'S A NEW QUESTION THAT'S BEGINNING TO POP UP IN THE POLLS that's very interesting: "Should President Bush be impeached and removed from office?" Three polls that I know of (TPM) have asked this question recently, and the answer ranges from 39% to 45% SUPPORT impeachment!

"Sicko"
Don't just take my word for it, go see it for yourself, and make up your own mind.

Colbert refers to Tancredo's Polling levels

Here's another example of how "well" Tancredo is thought in the country after the last GOP candidate debate (click on the picture to see the "The W0RD" video which contains this reference.)

The DeEvolution of Tancredo (into a joke)

Remember Tom's joining the flatearthers? Here are some great quips courtesy of WE Blog:

Here's what Bill Maher said: "Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee and Tom Tancredo -- those were the three guys who said they do not believe in evolution. The irony will be on them when their campaigns die off in favor of stronger, fitter campaigns."

And Jay Leno: "Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee and Tom Tancredo all raised their paw. . . . They said they do not believe in evolution. Then they said the biggest threat to America is religious radicals living in the Dark Ages."

And Jon Stewart: "In case you missed it, raising their hands were Sam Brownback, Tom Tancredo and Mike Huckabee. They will be missed."

Tancredo's tries for 5th place and hits a new low

From the RMN article "Tancredo sets new goal for presidential campaign"

Tancredo, R-Littleton, said this morning he's hoping to rank at least 5th in the Iowa Republican Party's straw poll in Ames on August 11, or else it could become difficult to continue his campaign.

He also stirred the pot — and won some applause in a Republican-leaning crowd — with his controversial interpretation of the Muslim faith and by questioning whether human beings are really responsible for global warming.

Tancredo -> Anti-Immigration -> Hate Groups - Getting too close?

Here's an interesting article on the relationships between anti-immigration groups, extremist groups, right-wing (mainstream) media personalities, and hate groups, and how they are becoming closer.
