Senator Hillary Clinton said today:

"I think that since we now know that Sen. John McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, National Security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it's imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the Commander in Chief threshold. I believe that I've done that. Certainly Sen McCain has done that, and you'll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy."

Harry Reid and the Senate will soon be taking up the question of Telecom Immunity once again in the New Year. In case you have forgotten or managed to miss the issue let me refresh you. It recently became public knowledge that not only was our government spying on American Citizens' phone and email conversations without warrants (which is both illegal -see FISA- and unconstitutional- see the 1st and 4th Amendments) but that they had suborned the cooperation of most of the giant Telecom Corporations, which allowed the NSA to set up wiretapping operations within each company.

Terrible Tommy's parting shot, now that he's retiring from the hard work of not voting in Congress, is a putrid little campaign commercial for his vanity soapbox presidential bid.

It starts with the usual boilerplate: "I'm Tom Tancredo, and I approved this message, and adds "because SOMEONE needs to say it!" The commercial depicts a fictional Terrorist walking through our streets, looking like some random citizen, dropping off a backpack full of explosives at the mall, as a sinister voice declaims:

60 minutes repeated a fascinating example of Republican spin last sunday night. It was called "Wake-up Call", and there was just enough truth in it to swallow it whole. Actually, most of what was said was true, it was just the conclusions about the causes and the solutions that were pure Republican spin.

THERE'S A NEW QUESTION THAT'S BEGINNING TO POP UP IN THE POLLS that's very interesting: "Should President Bush be impeached and removed from office?" Three polls that I know of (TPM) have asked this question recently, and the answer ranges from 39% to 45% SUPPORT impeachment!
